Airport Operations Specialist (SRAA)

Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, operator of the Syracuse Hancock International Airport, is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Airport Operations Specialist. This position reports directly to Airport Operations Officer. The operations division is responsible for the 24/7 coverage of the operations desk, and inspecting airport complex grounds for security, safety, lighting deficiencies, and surface conditions, in compliance with Part 139 of Federal Aviation Regulations. This position includes opportunity for overtime, including mandatory seasonal overtime. An initial six (6) month training period will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have one (1) year of experience working at a commercial airport or military airbase in one of the following areas: 1. airport field maintenance; 2. fixed base operations which must have included towing aircraft on ramps and taxiways, fueling aircraft, marshaling aircraft to parking positions, or de-icing; 3. ground support of aircraft; or 4. airport operations area (AOA). Thirty (30) credit hours in an aviation college program may be substituted for experience. A valid driver’s license is required, CDL preferred.

The Authority is seeking someone capable of working well independently, has sound judgment, works well under pressure, is an effective communicator, and is dedicated to safety.
