Auburn Mayor Michael Quill is no stranger to serving the public. Prior to taking office as the 55th Mayor of Auburn, Quill served on the City’s fire department for 32 years, retiring as Fire Chief. Mayor Quill followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the Auburn Fire Department in 1973 after serving four years in the United States Marine Corps part of which was serving in Vietnam. Mayor Quill and his wife have been married 44 years all of which was spent in Auburn where they raised their two children Michael and Colleen. They are enjoying life with their four Grandchildren.

Mayor Quill is an active member of a number of committees. His New York State Governor appointments include the Regional Economic Development council, State Workforce Investment Board, and the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) where he serves as Vice-President and member of the Board of Governors. His county appointments include the Cayuga Economic Development Agency and the Cayuga County Water & Sewer Authority, his city involvement includes Auburn Industrial Development Authority, Auburn Local Development Committee and Board of Directors of Auburn Community Baseball.
