Auburn Mayor Mike Quill is no stranger to serving the public. Prior to taking office as the 55th Mayor of Auburn, Quill served on the City’s fire department for 32 years, retiring as Fire Chief. Mayor Quill followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the Auburn Fire Department in 1973 after serving four years in the United States Marine Corps part of which was serving in Vietnam. Mayor Quill and his wife have been married 40 years all of which was spent in Auburn where they raised their two children Michael and Colleen.

Mayor Quill is an active member of a number of committees. His New York State Governor appointments include the Regional Economic Development council, State Workforce Investment Board, and the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) Board of Governors. His county appointments include the Cayuga Economic Development Agency and his city involvement includes Auburn Industrial Development Authority, Auburn Local Development Committee and the Auburn Municipal Power Authority.
